TELESCOPIC PROPELLER BLADE,

Abstract

A description is given of a telescopic propeller blade containing individual sections with stop caps at the ends, a drum with cable grooves mounted on an axis inside the tube and connected with the sections, and a driving mechanism for the drum and guide cable rollers outside the tube. For more reliable and orderly arrangement of sections and prevention of dangerous vibrations, the drum is designed of several sections of different diameters. A screw thread for moving the drum with a pitch equal to that of its grooves is made on the flanges of the sections inside the tube. Reverse cable rollers are mounted on the tube from the opposite side of the guide rollers. (Author)
