BUOY-WINCH LIFT CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR LARGE OBJECT SALVAGE.

Abstract

Two basic lift control systems incorporating a buoy-winch concept for large object salvage are presented and their operation examined. One system includes four buoy-winches and the other includes two buoy-winches and a YRSD with two ram tensioners. The operation of these systems are considered from the stand point of maintenance, transportation, deployment and mooring, breakout, controlled lift and towing to shallow water. (Author)
