THE EFFECT OF PETROLEUM FUEL STORAGE STABILITY ON PREPOSITIONING COSTS,

Abstract

A survey has been made of the literature for an answer to the question: How long and under what conditions can POL be stored at a given level of quality. Information is given on the type of storage and handling facilities that will allow a particular quality of fuel to be stored for a desired length of time will enable military planners to draw up accurate estimates of the prepositioning costs involved in a rapid deployment scheme.
