EQUATION OF STATE OF LOW-DENSITY CARBON,

Abstract

Preliminary experimental attempts to determine the low-pressure, high-temperature equation of state of carbon are reported. Shock waves are used to raise foamed carbon to very high energy densities, and analysis of the subsequent pressure release wave then yield P, V, E equation-of-state data in the desired region.
