OBSERVATIONS OF NONLINEAR ABSORPTION IN CERTAIN ORGANIC SUBSTANCES (Nablyudenie Nelineinogo Pogloshcheniya v Nekotorykh Organicheskikh Veshchestvakh),

Abstract

The anomalous absorption of ruby laser light during experiments on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) with focused beams in optically transparent organic liquids is discussed. These studies involved organic materials having an absorption coefficient less than 0.03/cm in the visible region (such as cyclohexane, cyclohexene, benzene, heptane, and so on).
