USE OF TWEEN-80 AND ETHER TO INCREASE THE SENSITIVITY OF HEMAGGLUTINATION TEST FOR LATENT VIRUS IN AFRICAN GREEN MONKEYS,

Abstract

In the course of studies of hemagglutinating properties of a latent virus isolated from the cultures of uninfected kidneys of green monkeys treatment of the virus with tween-80 and ether according to Norrby's method and also separate treatment with tween and ether were used to increase the sensitivity of hemagglutination test. Norrby's method was found to be the most effective and its use resulted in an increase of the hemagglutination titer by 16-32 times. (Author)
