EFFECT OF HIRUDOTHERAPY ON SOME INDICES OF BLOOD CAGULABILITY,

Abstract

The author's observations confirm published data on the beneficial effect of leeches on patients with hypertension. Although arterial pressure drops after the leeches variably and slightly, sometimes only for a short period, nevertheless nearly all patients note a decrease of headache, cessation of tinnitus, improvement of sleep and mood. Thus, bdellotherapy has not lost its importance as a valuable auxiliary method of treating many diseases even at the present time. (Author)
