FEASIBILITY TEST FOR DCB-24R GREEN ACRYLIC FILTER.

Abstract

A green acrylic filter made from 3/16-inch plexiglass was tested with a DCB-24R Searchlight Beacon with 1000-watt and 2000-watt tungsten-halogen lamps. The tests yielded a transmissivity in excess of fifty percent, a chromaticity too pale to qualify as a 'Signal Green', and high temperature effects on the acrylic filter. (Author)
