AN IBM TYPE 650 PROGRAM FOR COMPUTING CORRELATION COEFFICIENTS BETWEEN PAIRED VARIABLES,

Abstract

The program computes correlation coefficients between pairs of three digit variables for up to 24 pairs at a time. Output should include the correlation coefficients for each of the pairs of variables, means, variances, and standard deviations for each of the variables, sums and sums of squares for the variables and sums of cross products for each of the pairs of variables. Since the program is self restoring, a larger number of correlation coefficients for pairs of variables may be computed by dividing the total number into subsets not exceeding 24 pairs in size and running them consecutively with appropriate header and trailer cards.
