A MOBILE TELEVISION INSTALLATION,

Abstract

At the Moscow and Leningrad television centers were conducted preliminary tests on the prototype of the ARTU under real conditions during travel of the transmitting unit over city streets at speeds from 2 to 60-70 km/h with transmission of television image and sound commentary into space and recording on a video tape recorder. Shown for the first time were parades of 1 May and 19 May 1968 in Leningrad (passing of troops and Pioneer squads) and others. In all over 20 trips were made. Results of tests and examination of video recordings made it possible to compile a great amount of experimental material allowing conclusions to be made on the use of the ARTU in out-of-studio television broadcasting. Results of the tests also determined ways of further improving the equipment for the purpose of its introduction into industrial production. (Author)
