APPLICATION OF LEGENDRE TRANSFORMS TO AN INVESTIGATION OF PLANE ELASTOPLASTIC WAVES OF A LOAD,

Abstract

The author examines the one-dimensional unsteady motion of a continuous deformable medium whose dynamic properties under loading are characterized by a single relationship between stress and strain for all particles. The approximating curves can obtain points of inflection. The specific problem of longitudinal impact loading of a rod of finite length is solved, and the appearance of a shock front in the area of the first interaction of the load waves is studied.
