A MULTICHANNEL MAGNETIC ACCUMULATOR OF ANALOG VALUES,

Abstract

A new signal summer has been developed which is free from the many shortcomings (low accuracy due to different leakage reactances, etc., of individual inputs) of the conventional transformer-type summer. In the new summer, the secondaries of input transformers are connected in series and loaded with individual resistors. The desirable input weight determines the number of turns of the secondary. All input transformers consume equal powers and have the same efficiency. The common secondary circuit is terminated with a high-resistance emitter follower; this circuit carries a current negligible as compared to local secondary currents; hence, the influence of one input on the other is negligible. This influence decreases with the increasing number of inputs. Design formulas are given.
