Research on Rocket Propulsion of Projectiles

Abstract

Time-pressure curves were obtained with the piezo-electric gauge using the rocket driving charge which has been used in firings of free rocket projectiles as reported specifically in the 'Third Partial Report on Research on Propulsion of Rocket Projectiles'. The results show the approximate peak pressures reached in the driving charge chamber of these rockets, the duration of burning and the pressures existing at any time between ignition and the return to zero in one case and nearly to zero in the others.
