MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR LARGE SHEETS OF TRANSPARENT SINGLE CRYSTAL ALUMINUM OXIDE BY THE CZOCHRALSKI METHOD.

Abstract

The process for the growth of single crystal aluminum oxide plate has been further developed to obtain more reproducible results. Particular emphasis has been placed on improvement of crystalline shape, and optical quality. The problems of fabricating the large size plates have been considered and some development work carried out. (Author, modified-PL)
