COMPACT FIVE-GUN CATHODE RAY TUBE.

Abstract

The objective of this contract was to develope a compact five-gun cathode ray tube similar to thE JAN-7YP2, but restricted to an overall length of 12 inches. Initial efforts during this period were directed towards design and tooling of a suitable glass envelope, a short compact cluster with five electron guns, a mu-metal shield, and associated electrical hardware. The final efforts during this time interval were directed towards successful construction and delivery of two prototype cathode ray tubes. (Author)
