A SPECIAL FOR DOCUMENT RETRIEVAL IN A MAGNETIC-TAPE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM,

Abstract

This article contains a description of a specialized code selector which provides retrieval of documents in a descriptor retrieval block on magnetic tape for continuous information reading from the magnetic tapes of the storage system in the 'Minsk-22' computer. The length of the descriptor code and of the code number assigned to each document was chosen equal to 18 bits, which permits a block of 250 thousand documents. (Author)
