INFRARED ABSORPTION SPECTRA OF SOME MONOETHERS OF PHENYLETHYLENE GLYCOL,

Abstract

The IR spectra of 11 monoethers of phenylethylene glycol which possess intensive activity were studied. A change in the structure of the alcohol radical of the indicated compound does not cause noticeable changes in the IR spectra. The only significant change noted is displacement by 15/cm of the frequency of v(C-O-C) toward the side of higher values in the case when R is CH3. No connection was found between the insecticidal activity of the investigated monoethers of phenylethylene glycol with their IR spectra. (Author)
