UNIVERSAL APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING THE DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF POLYMERS DURING PURE BENDING AND TORSION,

Abstract

A short description is presented of an apparatus for determining the dynamic moduli of elasticity, the logarithmic decrement at large amplitudes of bending and torsional vibration, and the endurance limit of a material, all on the same polymer specimen. Dimensions of the specimen are: diameter 6 mm, length 60 mm. The apparatus operates on the basis of the resonance method of creating vibrations in the specimen and subsequently measuring automatically the amplitudes, frequency, and number of cycles of forced and free vibrations. Also presented are methods of determining dynamic characteristics with the apparatus. (Author)
