KT-90 TELEVISION CAMERA FOR TRANSMITTING MOVIE FILMS,

Abstract

The KT-90 television camera used for transmitting movie films uses a specially developed 38 mm vidicon which possesses high resolution, good signal uniformity across the field, slight geometric distortions and a large signal output. This gives image quality which significantly exceeds in all technical characteristics that provided by previously developed cameras. The article gives technical data for the 38 mm LI-418 vidicon and describes the units and assemblies which make up the camera, i.e. pickup tube, magnetic system, preamplifier, quenching pulse unit, automatic control unit, horizontal and vertical sweep generator, high voltage rectifier, voltage regulator unit, filament supply transformer and the pickup tube work-hour counter. The camera body is made of cast aluminum alloy with hinged covers allowing access to all the assemblies. The camera is mounted stationary in the television movie projection room and is joined to an optical commutator which allows projection of an image to the camera from any of the projectors located in the room. All optical and mirror elements necessary for this are mounted in the commutator. Work of the camera, camera channel and the power pack is provided for by a 100 meter long camera cable connecting the camera to the control room.
