METHODS OF INCREASING RESOLUTION IN A PULSE RADAR,

Abstract

The author discusses methods of improving resolution at pulse radar stations by analyzing factors affecting radar performance. The distance equation is extended to cover the expression for the maximum received information, taking into account receiver principles, maximum number of detectable targets, and parabolic antenna theories discussed by A. P. Dorokhov. The author concludes that millimeter and micron waves can be used to obtain high resolution. The method of pulse compression is proposed for use in simultaneously raising resolution and broadening detection ranges.
