THE USE OF TELEVISION IN THE SEARCH FOR SUPERNOVAE,

Abstract

A television supernovae patrol method is proposed for certain selected galaxies. Attention is called to the feasibility of operationally detecting bright supernovae by the galaxy image on a television screen. A method is described whereby a television system can be used to record relatively faint-light sources in the immediate vicinity of bright objects.
