MODERN TRENDS IN THE INVESTIGATION OF NUCLEAR REACTOR SHIELDING,

Abstract

A review is made of present trends in Soviet shielding research. The present fields of interest are: the study of radiation fields inside and at the edge of the shielding medium; the study of constants for specific types of shieldings, the study of shielding of limited size; the study of inhomogeneities in shielding; and the study of optimal shielding shapes and compositions. Examples of advances in these areas are given. (Author)
