THE ROLE OF MECHANICAL FACTORS IN THE PROCESS OF EROSION IN PULSE DISCHARGES,

Abstract

Tests were run to determine the effect of thermal stresses on erosion of tungsten and zirconium carbide in electric spark machining. Results show that these stresses can exceed the tensile strength of the material being treated. (Author)
