ESTIMATING DERIVATIVES FROM OUTER SPACE.

Abstract

Quantized measurements are obtained of an m-times differentiable function f, that is, it is known that a sub i = or < f(t sub i) = or < b sub i, i = 1,2,...,n. Maximum likelihood type estimates of f'(t sub 0) are obtained via a theorem of Ritter. The results generalize in a number of ways. (Author)
