AN ACOUSTIC DIGITAL DATA LINK.

Abstract

A design study of various possible methods of developing an underwater data link to monitor a deep ocean capsule was undertaken. The capsule is designed to remain on the ocean floor for a year, and the data link is required to periodically sample the data being recorded and send it to a surface buoy for relay to a shore station. A comparative engineering evaluation of the possible systems was made. (Author)
