FALLOUT COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

The investigation of fallout computational techniques has resulted in several improved computer programs. These programs have been written in FORTRAN for the CDC 6600 and UNIVAC 1108 computers. A program has been developed to compute the beta radiation dosage at a specified depth below the surface of the skin due to multiple fallout particles. Programs have been prepared to plot dynamic dose rate contours for fallout from multiple nuclear bursts at up to fifty input values of time. In addition, programs have been developed to plot peak dose rate contours and contours of the time at which the peak dose occurs. A study was made of methods of analytically combining fallout field measurements. A program has been developed to fit a least-squares polynomial surface to a set of intensity measurements. (Author)
