ELECTRONIC ADDITIVE COLOR VIEWER.

Abstract

Equipment was developed to provide a highly flexible experimental tool to produce color displays, with additive color techniques from two and three black and white color separations. The scanner operates as a standard 525-line video system, with additional circuitry providing capability for expanded contrast and inversion of negatives. The display monitor may operate in either of two modes: NTCS Monochrome or Simultaneous Three-Color Separation Inputs. In both scanner and display, a color matrix was incorporated to manipulate the color being displayed for each individual color separation input. The results of the experiments revealed that the instrumentation employed provided a very useful technique for providing high quality color displays from a variety of photographic inputs. (Author)
