CURRENTS ON A SEMI-INFINITE TUBE ILLUMINATED BY ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES,

Abstract

The Wiener-Hopf technique is applied to solve the integral equations for the total currents on the surface of a semi-infinite circular tube, illuminated by a normally incident electromagnetic plane wave. A simple relation is derived to relate the numerical solutions of semi-infinite tubes and long finite tubes of the same radius. This is practically useful as a means of obtaining data for the latter from a solution of the former, or vice versa. (Author)
