A NOTE ON FLOW OVER A FLAT PLATE,

Abstract

An alternate singular perturbation theory, with uniformly valid solutions throughout the flow region, is presented for the high Reynolds number flow over a flat plate. The application of the method completely eliminates the superficial and formal mathematical requirements of asymptotic matching of inner and outer expansions and the construction of composite solutions which are associated with the classical singular perturbation theory.
