The progress of the 48-inch Telescope Project of the Nizamiah Observatory, Osmania University is outlined, and the equipment obtained and the initial work done under the programme of 'Spectroscopic and Photoelectric Studies of Planetary and Stellar Atmospheres' are described. (Author)
