TABLES OF THE BENDING ELEMENTS OF SANDWICH PANELS OF ASYMMETRIC THICKNESS,

Abstract

Standard working formulas are given for the bending elements of a three-layer panel freely supported on a rigid contour. The panel is asymmetric in thickness and is under the influence of a uniformly distributed transverse load. The deflections and maximum tangential and normal stresses in the center of the panel, the filler, and the upper and lower supporting layers are given. The numeric values of the coefficients, which are the sums of hyperbolic and trigonometric series, are given in tables as functions of the parameters of the panel. Formulas and tables of values are also given for symmetric panels. The formulas were obtained by solving systems of differential equations in ordinary hyperbolic and trigonometric series. (Author)
