Abstract

Increasing interest in and public commitment to training and retraining has resulted in a rapidly expanding number of evaluations of recent and current vocational and pre-vocational training programs. Data for these studied have invariably been collected from former trainees themselves. This paper utilizes data collected from former trainees themselves. This paper utilizes data collected for a pilot study designed to test the efficacy of an alternative approach: the collection of follow-up data from the personnel records of hiring companies.
