THE EFFECT OF THE TYPE OF LUBRICANT ON THE WEAR RESISTANCE OF COMPONENTS COMBINED WITH KAPROLON,

Abstract

The friction and wear were studied between a steel shaft and nylon sleeve bearing. The friction coefficient varied between 0.60 and 0.74 when the bearing was not lubricated. The lubricants considerably improved the wear resistance of steel nylon surfaces. An increase in lubricant viscosity reduced and decreased the wear. (Author)
