HOT-ROLLING TEXTURE OF TITANIUM ALLOYS,

Abstract

The hot rolling texture of technical titanium and some of its alloys were studied. The initial materials for the investigation were the technical alloys VT1 1 (technical titanium), VT5 1 (alloy of titanium with 5 percent aluminum and 2.5 percent tin) and OT4 1 (alloy of titanium with 1.5 percent aluminum and 1 to 1.5 percent manganese). Shop hot rolling of the blanks was carried out in one direction on a mill with 750 mm diameter rollers. A table shows the temperatures of the beginning and end of rolling for the different alloys.
