PLANE-WAVE SOLUTIONS OF A TWO COMPONENT HYDRODYNAMIC PLASMA.

Abstract

A study of plane-wave oscillations in an (fluid-model, anisotropic, warm, collisionless) electron-ion plasma is presented. Computed dispersion relations and polarizations (wave structure) of plasma modes, obtained by use of the CDC 6600 computer, are compiled and graphically illustrated for typical values of system parameters. A convenient computer program for calculation of the orthonormal plane-wave solutions is listed. (Author)
