NEGATIVE-ION MASS SPECTRA OF VARIOUS FLUORINE CONTAINING MOLECULES.

Abstract

Negative-ion mass spectra are compared with the positive-ion mass spectra for the compounds: (CH3CO)2O, (C2F5CO)2O, (C3F7CO)2O, n-C6F14, C3F7C(CF3)2, CF3COCl, (CF3)2CO, BF3, N2F4 and SiF4. The negative-F ion spectra were much weaker than the positive-ion spectra. In the case of the two perfluorohexanes the parent negative ions were relatively abundant. In other respects the evidence strongly favored positive ion mass spectra for analysis of fluorides. (Author)
