The Pilot Training Study: Precommissioning Training

Abstract

An analysis is made of the student flows, supporting resources, and costs of graduating pilot candidates from the 3 major sources of enrollees: Air Force Academy (AFA), Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), and Officer Training School (OTS). By developing estimating relationships and predictive factors from a calculation of attrition rates and historical costs of training at past student load levels, estimates can be made of the future costs of training at different levels.
