CONSIDERATIONS IN PREPARING LOGISTICS SUPPORT COST ESTIMATES: A GENERALIZED COST MODEL FOR AN AIRCRAFT SYSTEM.

Abstract

The pamphlet provides a definition of AFLC costs involved in the support of an aircraft weapon or support system and a methodology for the computation of the cost estimate. The composition and design of this generalized model are intended to make it an instrument for estimating the costs for the support of a new proposed system or for pricing out the effect of a significant change in an operational aircraft program. Since each requirement for a cost estimate is based upon a different condition, the project should be considered a guideline for constructing a logistic support model rather than a formalized method of computation.
