RESEARCH STUDIES ON OPTICAL PARAMETRIC OSCILLATION.

Abstract

The general areas which were studied during the contract period were: The use of cw gas lasers to make cw optical parametric oscillators; ruby pumped noncollinear oscillators; spontaneous parametric emission; phase locked parametric oscillators; the use of the 0.946 micrometer line in Nd:YAG as an oscillator pump; and most recently, a novel method to lock the output of an optical parametric oscillator to an atomic transition.
