RESPONSE OF STRUCTURAL MATERIALS TO HIGH INTENSITY PURE THERMAL RADIATION.

Abstract

Studies performed have included: (1) stresses induced by radiant surface heating, (2) longitudinal wave propagation in rods with non-uniform temperature distribution, (3) dynamic stability of beams with temperature gradients, (4) formulation of axisymmetric problems in viscoplasticity, and (5) determination of temperature and rate dependent strength properties of metals.
