MOLECULAR LASER STUDIES IN THE FAR INFRARED.

Abstract

Experimental work on SO2, H2S, and the boron trihalide, molecular lasers operating in the far infrared is reported along with chemical excitation of molecules by atomic nitrogen. Attempts at laser line assignments in SO2 are discussed. Cascade-competition and precision wavelength measurements in H2S were studied. A model for gain saturation under pulsed laser conditions is presented. Also given are the publications and personnel associated with this research. (Author)
