NERVOUS PROCESSES UNDERLYING BEHAVIOR AND LEARNING.

Abstract

In previous reports researchers have demonstrated in rats the importance of the centrum-medianum-parafascicular complex (CM-Pf) in instrumental defensive conditioning (I.D.C.) whereas alimentary conditioning (I.A.C.) remains unimpaired or slightly and reversibly impaired after the same lesions. Three areas of this research have been pursued: Extension of these investigations to monkeys; Extension of the lesion to neighboring structures; Extension of the experiments to a variety of test structures.
