MARINE MULTIPASS PHOTOMETER-TRANSPARENCY METER (Morskoi Mnogokhodovoi Fotometr-Prozrachnomer),

Abstract

A description is given of the design principle of a device for measuring the attenuation index of directed light in the sea. One of its features is the possibility of varying the length of the beams' path in the medium under study, permitting the conduct of measurements under optimal conditions in waters differing markedly in transparency. The instrument provides a direct recording of the curve for the attenuation index as a function of depth.
