SURGICAL TRAUMA AND HEMOSTASIS.

Abstract

The following seven subjects were investigated during the course of this research: Observations on the response to graded blood loss in humans and in dogs; An assessment of small blood vessel function in hemostasis; Blood volume alterations in humans with cardiac disease; Blood trauma with various extracorporeal oxygenators; Heparin rebound - in humans and in dogs; Plasma expanders - the bleeding tendency; Lactated Ringer's solution for blood replacement - in humans and in dogs. The essential findings on the above subjects are summarized.
