STATISTICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RADAR ECHO ALTITUDE DISTRIBUTION IN THE PRESENCE OF PRECIPITATION.

Abstract

An examination is made of the possibility of using the statistical characteristics of radar echo altitude distribution to detect the presence of precipitation (storms). An essentially new aspect is the fact that the radar echo field as a whole is analyzed, and not only individually sampled sources. (Author)
