VORTEX THEORY OF A LIFTING SURFACE.

Abstract

The vortex theory developed for the case of a plate of rectangular planform is generalized to the case of arbitrary planform. The plate is considered as a number of elementary rectangular strips, each strip consisting of a number of 'horse-shoe' vortices. The integral equation of the problem is given. (Author)
