INCREASING THE WEAR RESISTANCE OF RUBBER PARTS BY FLUORINATION OF THEIR SURFACE,

Abstract

The report presents the results of studies on the effect of antimony pentafluoride on the wear resistance of butadiene nitrile rubber. Fluorination was accomplished by two methods without preliminary chlorination of the rubber surface: with antimony pentafluoride liquid and vapor. The method of vapor phase fluorination for the rubber's surface is recommended for industrial purposes.
