SCIENTIFIC RESULTS FROM THE FLIGHT OF YANTAR AUTOMATIC IONOSPHERIC LABORATORIES. PART II,

Abstract

To investigate the prospects of controlled flight in the upper atmosphere, 'Yantar' automatic ionospheric laboratories with gas plasma ion engines were launched by means of geophysical rockets to altitudes of 100-400 km. The complicated interaction of a gas ion jet and a neutralizer (electron emitter) with the plasma of the ionosphere is studied. The data from processing the results obtained in the experiments are given in the report.
