STRESS AND DEFLECTION ANALYSIS OF FIBROUS COMPOSITE MATERIALS UNDER EXTERNAL LOAD.

Abstract

Two previous reports presented the fundamentals of applying the analytical method of point matching to the problem of the loaded parallel-fiber composite material. The present work presents additional numerical results for circular, ellip-tical, and square fibers subjected to uniaxial tension and pure shear as well as results for transversely isotropic circular fibers. Analysis using multiple poles is continued from the previous reports and numerical results for the seven fiber problem are given. A method for solving the fiber-matrix interface debonding problem is presented and results are given. A complete statement listing is given for the final computer program. (Author-PL)
