ICOSAHEDRAL CARBORANES. XV. MONOMERIC CARBORANYLENE-SILOXANES.

Abstract

A series of carboranylenesiloxanes having molecular weights between 350 and 900 was prepared. Many of these monomeric compounds were found to be high boiling liquids which, when suitably 'end-capped', demonstrated unusual thermal stability. In general, they exhibit low ASTM viscosity slopes, low pour points, and high spontaneous ignition temperatures and flash points. (Author)
